Whether you are looking to add members to your club or find customers for your business, you may want to add a custom box with a web form to your Facebook Page.
Here is how to do it.
Log in to your Facebook page. In the top right corner in the Search box, type in "html profile box app" and hit enter.
Click on the "Custom Profile Box" icon.
Click on "Go to Application".
Facebook will ask if you allow this application and click yes.
A box will come up where you can write in text. If you import text from Word, it will ask you if you want to clean it. The reason is that you may have used special symbols like bullets that don't transfer into text. Look at the text in the popup to make sure that everything is okay. (Make sure popups are enabled). If it is easier for you, just create your text in Notepad and import.
Once your text is in the box, you can jazz it up by using bold, different size texts, different color texts or by highlighting certain words. You can center text or align it to the left or right.
If you know html code, you can edit it by clicking on the "Source" button.
If you want to add a web form, you will need a place to store your leads. Two of the most popular sites for this are AWeber and Get Response.
Get an account with one of these websites.
For this example, I am going to use AWeber. Log into your AWeber account. Click on "Web Forms" in the upper right corner. Now for this to work you will have to have already created a list. I am not going to go over that here. Click on the list for which you want to use to create the web form. Click on "Create Web Form". There will be several forms to choose from. Click on the one you want to use. Click on the buttons to edit text. You can add more fields to the form like phone number or address or create your own fields using the "Create a New Field" button. Make sure that the web form is set to "inline" so that it will appear on your page and not as a pop up or pop under.
Click on "Save Web Form". Then go to Step 2, where you will fill in some information about the web form. You will name it. Set up which message you want your prospects to see as a thank you page from your auto responder list.
Click Save. If you have filled out all of the information needed, the next page should say "Publish your Web Form". You can also reach this page by clicking on "Web Forms" up on top. Click on the name of the web form you just created. Then click on "Publish your Web Form". You will have a choice. Click on "I will install my form". Choose "Raw html version".
Copy the entire html code and paste it into your Custom Box on Facebook. You can highlight the entire code and hit center on the form if you would like to center the form in your box.
Click on "Update Custom Box" and then click "Back to Profile".
In order for the box to show up on your Facebook page, when you are back in your profile, put your mouse over the "Settings" button. From the pulldown menu click "Application Settings".
Click on the "Edit Settings" link next to the Custom Box Application. Make sure that the popup blocker is disabled now. In the popup window, make sure the "Profile" tab is on top. Next to "Box" click "Add". Decide your privacy settings for this box. Click "Okay".
Go back to your profile page and click on the Boxes tab. You should now see your custom box information with your web form.
